2nd session of Core Synergistics. Really tried to engage the core this time. Maybe I’m just not strong enough in the rest of my muscle groups because there are a few of the exercises that I still don’t feel much of anything in the core. Certainly the push-ups, plank, chatarangu(?) banana/superman, banana rolls, bow/boats all hit the core without really trying. Some of the lunge stuff just doesn’t seem to work anything for me but the legs. Still working up a sweat though. I’ll take it. Feels good and it’s P90X so I’ll keep pushing play and Bring It!

So this was my first time ever doing Core Synergistics. Wasn’t really sure what to expect. I could have looked ahead through the Fitness guide to see what was in the workout but I didn’t. I came away from this night with 2 thoughts:
1. I need to do better about focusing on the trunk during the exercises. Tony tells us this is the tip of the day and I didn’t do a very good job of it. For the most part I didn’t always feel like it was working the trunk. I think you really need to make it a focus so you can tighten the abs or glutes or what not while doing the different moves. I do think that the variations and combinations that combine all the different types of exercises we’ve done on previous days make this a very interesting and challenging workout.
2. It seemed to go fairly quickly. Many times I find myself checking the time remaining and thinking that 30 minutes feels like a long time to go. This one went quickly and I really was able to work up a good sweat.
I’m looking forward to going at it again in a few days.
