Here are 3 great recipes for smoothies. All are basic with no added powders of the whey or meal replacement variety. You could of course kick them up a notch by adding some form of powdered supplement. Probably the best piece of advice it near the end though. Freeze your fresh fruit as it begins to turn on you. Now you have some great stock for your smoothies.

Perhaps drinking 3-30 cups of Burning River Pale Ale might not have been a good idea. Last night the neighbors had a great pig roast. Kids had a great time and so did the children. Instead of doing Legs and Back, we hung out long after the sun went down, enjoying the company of our friends. There’s another cookout starting in less than an hour. The plan is for portion control and beer avoidance followed by a workout. We’ll see if the Memorial Day weekend takes another victim or not.

Slowly but surely we’re beginning to see improvements in our ability to do the P90X workouts. In previous Yoga sessions I couldn’t do Warrior 3. In this one I was able to attempt most of the sequence involving the warrior 3 stuff. Slowly my strength and endurance is improving. Some days I don’t notice but it’s day like the Yoga session where I can see that change first hand. It feel very good.

Day 32 is supposed to be Yoga X. Instead of Yoga we took a day off because of a Visalus event at the Muirfield Country Club in Columbus. The event didn’t end until 10:00 pm and we weren’t going to do a 90 minute workout starting at 10:30 pm. So Day 33 will be Yoga this week.

I don’t think I could even feel my biceps after this one. I kept looking for the pump in my arms you sometimes feel after a good resistance workout but my arms were just numb. Feeling a nice little soreness today though. This was a pretty cool workout. Loved the glamour muscle concentration. As a I guy, we always look for that bicep bulge right? Guilty. Mine have always been conspicuousluy absent though. Hopefully a little dose of Tony Horton and P90X will fix that.
Ab Ripper X gets the short stick in most of my posts. Barely a mention. Probably because it’s done at the end of a hard workout and my mind is already numb with fatigue. Last nights was a pretty good one though. I hit 25 reps for in and outs, bicycle, reverse bicycle before having to take a break with crunchy frogs. Even did 25 reps of wide leg sit-ups for the first time. Fifer Scissor remains a tough one usually getting me after 8 and forcing me to rest. The last two ABX sessions I was able to do 40 mason twists. Definitely seeing improvement with Ab Ripper X.
